Certification, for us, isn't a marketing checklist — it's what lets a buyer verify our claims instead of taking our word for them.
Each certification below is renewed and audited on its own cycle, and applies across our estate, our processing facilities, and our partner farmer network.
Each framework addresses a different part of the supply chain — from food safety and export compliance to environmental and farmer standards.
National export registration
Registration with the Coffee Board of India, the statutory body governing coffee cultivation, processing, and export from the country. This is the base-level authorization required to legally export Indian coffee.
Food safety compliance
Food Safety and Standards Authority of India licensing, covering hygiene, handling, and safety standards across our processing and packing facilities — applied to both our retail and export product lines.
Food safety management system
An internationally recognized food safety management standard, covering the full chain from raw material handling through processing, packing, and dispatch.
Hazard analysis & critical control points
A systematic approach to identifying and controlling food safety hazards at every critical stage of processing — from intake to final packaging.
EU Deforestation Regulation compliance
Compliance with the European Union's deforestation-free supply chain requirements, confirming our coffee is traceable to plots that have not contributed to deforestation.
Organic cultivation standard
Certification confirming cultivation practices free from prohibited synthetic inputs, verified through our estate and the partner farms enrolled in the program.
Fair pricing & farmer welfare
Verification of fair pricing and trading practices toward the farmers we source from — a direct extension of the partnership model described on our Farmer Programs page.
Environmental & social sustainability
A sustainability standard covering environmental protection, farmer livelihoods, and social conditions across the farms and facilities involved in production.

to compliant export.
It would be easier to certify only what a specific shipment or buyer requires. We don't do that. Every certification listed here applies across the group — to Lit Coffee's retail packs and Leelaprasad Coffee's export lots alike.
That consistency is also what makes our farmer partnerships auditable: certifications like Fair Trade and Rainforest Alliance depend on verifiable practices at the farm level, not paperwork at the export desk.
